SOKOFUN pro HINTS |
"SOKOFUN Pro" is a complex Sokoban variant. This means
it has a lot of undocumented features.
From now on we will uncover these hidden chances.
Common hints for the Sokoban novice are additionally
explained here!

1. Hint: How to stop a running solution sequence (movie) and continue playing the level on your own?
Just stop the movie and press the right mouse-button!
Now choose "Play yourself!"
(If you fill the redo-buffer with solution, you
can solve the level "automatically" by pressing the redo-button in PLAY-mode!)
2. Hint: Pyramids instead
of boxes
If you prefer pushing pyramids instead of boxes,
do the following:
Change to Options-Mode. Now look for
the Tileset-option and choose a different Tileset!

4. Hint: How to speed up movies-sequences?
Being in movie-mode you can speed actions by
activating the start-button (green triangle) continuously!
5. Hint: Creating several movie-files for one levelset
(Only possible with the registered
version!)
You want to create different movie-files for
every family-member? Then go to level-mode, and press <Save as>. Enter
a new name for the levelset, for example "FUNSHARE-mary". This will create
a copy of the levelset incl. the existing movies. Now, you might want to
delete the movies for this levelset. You do this by deleting the movie-file
(in this case "FUNSHARE-mary.mov") using Windows-Explorer. A new, empty movie-file
for the levelset will be created by SOKOFUN!
6. Hint: Improve your SOKOFUN-graphics
Download additional graphics here, unpack
the files to your SOKOFUN-directory, start the game and make some changes
in the game's Options-section (Option-depth =Pro)! Be sure to be in "High Color-Mode" or better
to get the expected results!
7. Hint: Import custom-made
levels from other sources
Use the XSB-import-facilities or the following
function of SOKOFUN Pro:
ASCII-Import
This function translates ASCII-maps to SOKOFUN-format.

The import is done via clipboard.
With SOKOFUN's Import-function it's no problem
to transfer long strings of level-maps. The levels must be separated by a
" ;" (semicolon)!

The levels above can be imported in one session.
Mark the whole bunch and put it into your clipboard (CTRL+C), insert the
clipboard contents into the Import-window (SOKOFUN Pro-Editor-mode, ASCII-Import),
press the <Import>-button, ready!
8. Hint: How to save a game-position properly?
While saving a game position you have to take care of two things:
1. It is recommended to save your games in the current SOKOFUN-directory!
2. If you make changes in the levelset (i.e. by inserting new levels or by
manipulating the level-order) old save-games will not work!
9. Hint: Import LURD-solutions
You can insert a LURD-solution for the current level from clipboard by
using the right (!) mouse button in

our monthly level 06/03 (Angle Fun). Cut the following sequence of
characters to your clipboard (Ctrl+c) and insert it as described above at
the start of "Angle Fun"!

10. Hint: XSB-Import (SOKOFUN pro - fullversion)
It is possible to import levels from
other sources using this editor-mode-function. Open the directory containing sokoban-levels
with .xsb-suffix, mark the levels to be imported and click on the <Import>-button.
The levels will be added to your current levelset.
